Dr has sent off fora histology test - what is this?

doctor has sent some tissue to the labs for a histology test - any clues to what that test it?Dr has sent off fora histology test - what is this?
Histology is the study of tissue.
It will involve microscopic examination of the tissue, after very thin slices of the tissue has been prepared and stained. Abnormalities in cell and tissue structure will be examined. Features such as pre-malignant and malignant change, and inflammation can be seen by the histopathologist.
A report will be sent to your doctor, who will then decide if further action needs to be taken.
Histological investigation of tissue samples is a routine procedure, done on all moles, skin growths and any tissue samples taken during biopsy..
microscopic study of the material, with the help of special staining materials.usually gives the diagnosis, sometimes, comes back as 'tissue insufficient
It a test done to determine what the tissue taken from a biopsy sample is. Samples are often taken routinely for histology to test whether the sample is benign or not.
a histology test is a type of blld test that is taken for abnormally in your blood. Example : checking you red and white blood cells to see if you have an infection.
A histology test is where the tissue sample is encased in wax and then placed on a machine that will take ver very thin slices off the sample at a time. Each time a slice is taken off it is examined closely under a microscope for evidence of disease.
The report should be back with the Dr in about 2 weeks.
Basically this is to examine the tissue/cells, often just to confirm what exactly it is. In general it is good practise to send any tissue you remove from a patient to have this check, just to be on the safe side.
