First Period?

How old were you and where were you when you got your first period? Pads vs tampons ( whats better )? And do you think it's right for kids to learn out getting their period in 5th grade?First Period?
I was 9. pads should come first, it's kind of like glasses before contacts--one must know how to handle the responsibility. I think it's appropriate to learn about it at that age. Once you are older, tampons have their many advantages over pads though.
12--pads 1st--ask ur gaurdian--yes, ther are lots of girls getting their menses in 5th grade.
yea-some girls get their periods when they are 8, even 7! i have not gotten mine yet an am glad, even though i am 13 and a half! i also started breast development less than 6 months ago and just started getting discharge- so i dont think im close to getting it either :)- so, yes, it is right to learn about it in 5th grade- i think 4th grade would be better, because the most common age these days to get ur periodis 11, which is how old u turn in 5th grade
I was almost 11 years old and in the 5th grade.Pads are the best.Girls are maturing faster now than they used to so it would be wonderful to be educated by 5th grade.

Of course its O.K for people to learn about periods in 5th grade a lot of girls start in 5th grade
I was 13 and Pads first for sure. And yes it is fine for kids to learn about periods in the fifth grade. When you have "the talk" with your child is the perfect time to discuss that and in this day and age either 5th or 6th grade is a good time.
