Found out that I have an Ovarian cyst,going to GYN after ultrasound.What to expect?

What happens now? I'm going to the GYN today. Will I have to get a pelvic exam again,even after the ultra sound? I hope not. Please help me!?! What will happen, I'm really nervous.Found out that I have an Ovarian cyst,going to GYN after ultrasound.What to expect?
the average woman has up to 7 cysts a year. typically what happens is that each month at the moment you ovulate you could produce a cyst. the cyst usually pops without any complications. the complications arise when the cysts DON'T pop. a person could also have polycystic ovary disease where you have numerous cysts that cause great pain due to their combined size and this can make you infertile. if you need to have it removed, this is typically done laparoscopically with small little incisions and a camera.
i understand being scared...no one wants to have anything wrong with them. but there are much worse things than just having a cyst so keep your doc appt and follow thru with whatever he/she tells you to do, ok?
You may have to have an internal - but if the sono shows enough maybe not. Depending on the size and location your doctor may chose to keep on eye on it. If it is large enough to be causing pain, bleeding etc. then he/she might decide to remove it. Have no fear the surgery is not a big deal. It may be able to be removed non-evasively.
