Does smoking make your cramps worse?Does this make it worse?
Yes, and I can explain why. Well oxygenated muscles cramp less than those that are deprived of oxygen. Also, when blood flow is reduced muscles will cramp up more. Smoking deprives oxygen to the bloodstream, and thus to the muscles. It also causes vasoconstriction. This means the blood vessels constrict, and results in less oxygenated blood flowing thru the body. This is part of why smokers have a higher risk of heart disease and stroke - both the heart and brain are muscles, and have nerves and blood vessels running thru them. It also slows down the healing process following any surgery, and is why the doctors often recommend that a person quit smoking following any type of fracture, bone graft or bone fusion surgery - the healing process for bones are slow due to the fact that they are not highly oxygenated anyway. Anything that reduces the oxygen they do get can actually retard any healing.
i would think so if u get cramps stop smoking o ask your doctor about cramps
i think they do because it gives you less air and it yyou breath the cramps go away
smoking causes your blood vessels to constrict which limits circulation. It shouldn't make your cramps worse, though.
I don't know but don't smoke. I went to a body exhibit, and it said one pack of ciggs takes 2 hours and 20 minutes of your life. It's seriously bad!! And I know 6 people who have to use a microphone thing they hold up to their neck to talk, because they have lung cancer and can't talk without it. DON'T SMOKE!
