Does taking birth control pills cause depression?

I have been taking Yaz and Metformin for 3 weeks now and I notice that I am sad for no reason most of the time I thought there was something bothering me and I just couldn't put my finger on it but to be honest there shouldn't be anything bothering me is it the medicine?...Ladies please help if you've experienced the same thing or men if you know someone who has.ThanksDoes taking birth control pills cause depression?

Yes, I had the same problem.When I took the pill I was sad and moody. When I stopped taking it I was fine. I think it has something to do with the amount of hormones that are in the pill.
