Does not having a period every month mean that I didn't ovulate?
I am afraid the answer is maybe. Certainly you may ovulate erratically.

No you can still ovulate if you are irregular.
You are still ovulating even though you did not shed any eggs.
not necessarily, it just means that your body is not shedding the lining. could be pregnant, could be stressed, could be working out too much?

So according to this information, in normal circumstances you can bleed without ovulating, but you can't ovulate and not bleed.
