Does menstruation cause diahrrea?

I've noticed that on the first day of my period, when my cramps are the worst, I also have diahrrea. Is this just a coincedence? Does being on your period make you have diahrrea also?Does menstruation cause diahrrea?
Yes, this is common. It has to do with the release of prostaglandins involves with the menstrual cycle.

No it is not a coindedence. Menstrating can cause all sorts of side effects- one of which is diahrrea. If it is really uncomfortable, try to plan to eat things that will not upset your stomach on that day.
boy am i glad you asked that! I thought i was the only person who had that issue! Its horrible! So to answer you: apparently it does cause i suffer too!
In some cases yes it does hunii..Just remeber a nice hot water bottle or some heated pad to put on your tummy;)
I usually have diarrhea a day or two before my period starts and the first day or two that I'm on my period as well. This is not a coincidence. Lots of women get diarrhea as a PMS symptom.
